Imagine Doyle as a substitute teacher at Sunnydale High. That's the premise of Roseveare's The Substitute Teacher.

In Soulbound, sometimes what seems obvious is not the best solution. This is an AU story by Katriena Knights.

Angel was Catholic once. Read Kyrie Eleison by Kyra Cullinan.

Sofia's Angel is broody, angsty, and upset by Phone Calls from Sunnydale.

The last seven years of Xander's life are told in 32 Short Fics about Xander Harris by nwhepcat.

Rupert knows that there are A Thousand Ways to Die. Miriam Rocke's story is lyrically painful and mercifully short.

How nice! Yseult's Passion - The Archive was the runner-up in the Shades of Grey Best Archive category. See the pretty picture.

Deus Otiosis by new writer Annakovsky is a missing scene from BtVS "Empty Places". It's a Willow POV piece in which she considers the changes in her life over the past seven years.

A Long Time by Mad Poetess is a disturbing story about love and trust between Spike and Xander.

Jennifer Oksana penned Reclamation in response to the plot and character developments of season 4 of Angel. Cordelia is back. How I've missed her.

William the Bloody, Lydia Chalmer's thesis on the infamous vampire. This is an incredible piece of fiction presented in the style, format, and content of a real dissertation.

Five Conversations by nwhepcat is a sequel to Sunnydale Calling. This story finds a recuperating Xander at the mercy of some well-intentioned visitors.

No Power on Earth, by Circe, is another Xander story that focuses on what he did when one of the male strippers called in sick. Here's a hint: it involves stripping (big surprise) and Spike.

If you've ever filled out insurance claim forms, you'll sympathize with Giles in Jane Leavell's A Healthy Mind in a Healthy Body.

Finally, one of my all-time favourites, Bleed, by Ducks and Vatrixsta Cruden. BtVS ends in almost 4 weeks. I **really** want a happy B/A ending.

9 April 2003
Sometimes when you beg and plead (and bribe), you get what you want: Maquis Leader's Begin a New Day. This is the sexy sequel to The End of Days. Angelus is back!

6 April 2003
Two very different stories are now in The Archive. The Valarous Vampire is a mock-scholarly exploration of the relationships between the Slayer, Buffy Summers, and two vampires, Angel/Angelus and William the Bloody aka Spike. Sunnydale Calling is an AU fic in which Xander gives Faith a "Get Out of Jail Free Card."

I know, I know. What's a B/A shipper doing with a Buffy/Spike story? But this is a **really** good story. Avalon has written an action-packed tale about Buffy, Spike, and the things we do when Love Is Blind.

Tomb of the Unknowns landed in my Inbox this week. It's an introspective Xander vignette. I promise this has mostly nothing to do with pain.

"Hi, my name is Yseult, and I like pain." It's been one of those weeks when what I read and liked was painful and angst-ridden. So, please, share my pain.

Many B/A writers have unsuccessfully grappled with the issue of Spike (souless and otherwise). Trixie has managed the impossible with eloquence and warmth. Amen is a brutally honest depiction of the intricacies of Buffy, Spike, and Angel and the aftermath of decisions.

Sheila Perez and Te have written a vignette of Gunn and Wesley after their initial battle with the Beast. Amends the Next Time is Te's second story in The Archive.

Chrislee's To Whom It May Concern focusses on Angel's reactions to some letters delivered by Spike.

Alcohol is optional for all three stories, but strongly recommended for Amen and To Whom It May Concern. Chocolate is also good.

In the mood for more pain? Try Sienna's Fuel to Fire and watch two people self-combust before your eyes.

21 March 2003
Inheritances, by Kita, is the latest addition to The Archive. This is a disturbing POV piece that centers on Angelus' torture of Giles during Becoming II.

Can't be a B/A shipper and not have at least one angsty B/A story in The Archive! Read Chrislee's Cherished and relive the pain that is Buffy and Angel..

Kate Elizabeth's Dreams of Alligators is a voyeuristic peek at Willow's mind in the days before her high school graduation.

15 March 2003
After much cajoling from Sharon Jane and Chrislee (thank you so much), I've added some interesting places to visit if you want to sightsee.

13 March 2003
Branwyn's Soldier is an intriguing character study of a man called Giles. This story joins Katriena Knight's exploration of the relationship between a torturer and his victim.

10 March 2003
Maybe I should title this "Just Out". Per the author's request, I have removed the link to Perri Smith's "technosupport@demon.com". I still think it's a good story with a tight plot, great characterization, and hilarious dialogue masquerading as email. If you want to read how the residents of Sunnydale and L.A. join forces to defeat evil and tackle Cordelia's dry cleaning, you'll have to Google it. But, it's worth the price of admission.

Rebecca Carefoot's Buried Alive was named the Best BtVS Story in the Winter 2001 Halo Awards. I've always liked this story and its premise: you can never escape from Hell. Chocolate anyone?

8 March 2003
In a valiant effort to add further stress to my life, I've set up an archive for my favourite stories. Everything that was on the old site has been moved and even organized (and don't ask how many hours that took). Right now, I'm in search of my bed. Check back sometime next week to see what's new.

One of the things I added when I moved stuff is reasons why I included something. I hope you find this useful in deciding whether to read a story. And remember, if you like the story, please let the author know. We live for feedback. Well, some of us do. Some of us also live for chocolate.
