Where, oh where, is Ripper? We see flashes of him on BtVS ("Halloween", "The Dark Age", "Passion", "Band Candy", "The Gift" to name a few). These are glimpses, mere hints at what is ultimately a middle-aged ex-Watcher. In this compact character study, Branwyn presents a Giles that we rarely see. If this Giles were around more often, who can say how season 6 would have unfolded.
